Perennial sea ice has declined from 1980 to 2012 at a rate of a negative 15 percent (-15%) per decade, per a new NASA study. Learn how ice has diminished with each passing winter during the past three decades, and how it will be measured employing satellites with new photon-counting laser altimeters on board.
